PANEL DISCUSSIONS
There will be four sessions comprising of representatives that intermingle in the areas of film making. Producers, directors, writers, actors, industry professionals, attorneys, financial planners, investors, and film enthusiasts will share their experiences, preparations, requirements, and expectations as we develop a strategic plan to accomplish our goal. This method promises to deliver a strong impact for the attendees, and will enlighten by providing the disciplines and skills required for success.
Session One: The Business
Developing strategies to draw other business disciplines that support film making are essential. We will discuss business plans, comprehensive film financing packages and strategies that target investors. Fulfilling what was promised is essential. Performance bonds, and other accountability systems and requirements to protect the investors will be covered. Also covered will be legal issues; protecting your intellectual rights, agreements, clearances, and sound accounting practices.
Session Two: The Message
There is a hunger among Black audiences for movies that portray their lives: movies of quality. Although a recent shift has occurred, Black films are still woefully lacking in storyline and production. What will it take to produce films that portray a more diverse positive side of our culture, and how do we influence our audience to view them?
Session Three: The Delivery Systems
Marketing and distribution strategies will be explored to develop a pipeline for varied streams of products and services. Audience delivery systems such as DVD mailings and internet downloading to membership subscription communities will sensitize our audience to create brand loyalty. What can be done to engage with other mediums for the purpose of creating leveraged distribution partnerships?
